Lisa Candela began documenting the lives of actors, dancers and musicians; and working under the tutelage of Helmet Newton, Albert Watson, and Ellen Von Unwerth. Her portraiture work defined Lisa as an artist with a unique style and talent for capturing the true essence and eternal beauty of her subjects. Lisa began traveling to Mexico, Costa Rico, Honduras and Peru, creating iconic works capturing the beauty of Latin culture. In 2005 Lisa photographed a gypsy tribe in Sayulita, Mexico. The beauty and vibrancy of these images captures a romantic and ethereal atmosphere, often enhanced by vivid bright colors and stark contrasts. Her photographs have been widely exhibited in California, New York and Mexico and sell to collectors throughout the world.
