Betina La Plante was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and educated in Europe. She studied Art Foundation in London before moving to Rome, Italy, to study Dramatic Art. After working in film & television production for several years, she decided to develop her skills as a photographer, which had been a passion of hers since childhood. A few years ago, she had the opportunity to photograph actor Terence Stamp, who has since become the subject of many of her portraits. The success of that first portrait session led to many more, including such personalities as Nickolas Grace, Herbert Kretzmer, Alan Parker, Peter Mayle, Frank Lowe, and Carolyn Murphy. She now works as a freelance photographer specializing in portraiture.
