Les Sables du Temps by Romain Veillon

The desert town of Kolmanskop, Namibia, had a booming diamond industry in the early 1900s. Now the area has been completely abandoned, left to gradually be consumed by the sand. “These photographs represent perfectly what I try to show through my pictures of abandoned places,” said French photographer Romain Veillon. “What used to be and no longer exists. And that humans are just passing through Earth—nature will always have the last word.”
