To Raise Awareness by Belo

To raise awareness among the general public about the global clean water crisis, the artist Belo created an image composed of 66,000 cups of colored rainwater simulating levels of impurities found in water all over the planet. This major work of 3,600 square feet, representing a fetus in the maternal womb, emphasizes the necessity of water, even before birth, for each living person. Fun Facts: 66,000 compostable and biodegradable cups, 15,000 liters of colored rainwater, 1 kg of vegetable dye, more than 100 volunteers, 62 hours of work, placed end to end the 66,000 cups would measure 5.2 km long. My Favorite Subjects by Wil Mijer

I always find it hard to tell you something about myself. I will make a small attempt. I live in the new town of the Netherlands, Zeewolde. For my passion, macro photography, you can find me mainly in the nature. I love photographing insects and flowers, but the butterflies are absolutely my favorite subjects. Unfortunately there are many butterfly species extinct in the Netherlands, due to an incorrect cutting policy, but also spraying pesticides. I use a Canon 40D Canon, 100mm macro. MP-E65mm Canon. Twin Flash for Canon. I almost always use my Manfrotto tripod. Wil Mijer

Explore the beautiful and uncertain world of adolescence through photographer Claudine Doury‘s haunting work: I’m interested in the world of adolescence because it is situated at a turning point in life. Adolescence is the crossroads of all possibilities. James Agee wrote, “Adolescence is a kingdom of fallen and still falling angels, but it is yet a kingdom.”

A Poetic Experience by Angelika Ejtel

I consider my photographic creation as a poetic experience in which I drown myself, dissolve myself and, as a result, it gives me the feeling that I’m reborn with each portrait into a new being. My attitude towards the self is more of an exploratory journey between an awareness of self and an unawareness of some aspects of self. Angelika Ejtel

My exploration of natural environments continues, today as a freelance photographer who conducts photography workshops in some of America’s most exotic landscapes. I am a photographer and architect based in Oxford / London, England. I’ve always loved telling stories and knew from a young age that I would work within the creative industry. A few years ago armed with a small point and shoot camera and Photoshop I began a 365 self portraiture project. It was a turning point in my life. Finally I’d discovered a medium that just made sense to me. In the past few years I’ve pursued photography with a passion and am constantly striving to improve my skill set.  Bella Kotak
