For his photographs Abelardo Morell uses rooms without light. There is only a small hole in one of the walls on where the pinhole camera is placed. With a very long exposure time the result is an image of ‘the outside world’ that is illustrated upside down on the opposite wall of where the camera is placed. If you’ve ever wondered how photography and cameras were first invented this video is going to blow your mind. Abelardo Morrell creates giant camera obscuras out of rooms by creating a pinhole to transmit the light, projecting the view outdoors upside down onto the opposite wall.

Questi netturbini tedeschi appassionati di fotografia hanno deciso di rendere il loro lavoro un po’ più interessante trasformando i loro bidoni della spazzatura in fotocamere con foro stenopeico. Chiamandolo Progetto Trashcam, gli uomini hanno creato fotografie in bianco e nero sorprendenti della città di Amburgo. “Metti il box nel posto giusto. Misura la luce (usando un vecchio esposimetro GOSSEN), calcola l’esposizione in funzione del diametro del foro e degli ASA della carta. Apri il foro. Prendi un caffè e aspetta. Lo sviluppo è un po’ più complicato. Nei giorni luminosi la carta fotografica ha bisogno di 5-6 minuti di esposizione, ma in giornate più buie può anche richiederne fino a 90.
